Voices Underwater
Synchronicity Performance Group has done it again. "Voices Underwater" was superb and most wonderfully of all was the masculine form of Mr. Theroun Patterson. Most of the women in the theater were pretty sure there was theater going on - action on the stage and all - but once the water hit the beautiful backside and legs of Mr. Patterson, no other thoughts were among the audience. Beautifully sculpted by director Rachel May, this masterpiece disturbed the mind and made the audience think by bringing a little girl into an old building in Alabama. The show was a wonderful mix of 1864 Civil War situations, 1923 Southern story-telling and present day tensions with interracial dating. Disturbing? Maybe - but Synchonicity has always made their audience think, and think for weeks after seeing a show, as good theater should. Bravo to Synchronicity!
